About Course

Business Laws is a shorter paper — 50 marks in 60 minutes — but an unforgiving
one, because it is examined on the specific provisions of four named Bangladeshi
statutes rather than on general principles.

The bank covers all four evenly: the Companies Act 1994, the Negotiable
Instruments Act 1881, the Partnership Act 1932, and the Contract Act 1872
together with the Sale of Goods Act 1930.

Because the paper is half the length of the larger modules, a single weak
statute does disproportionate damage. The even coverage lets you find out which
one that is well before the exam.

What Will You Learn?

  • Apply the provisions of the Companies Act 1994 to formation, shares and company administration
  • Distinguish company types and the consequences that follow from each
  • Apply the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881 to bills, notes and cheques
  • Identify holder, holder in due course and the rights attaching to each
  • Apply the Partnership Act 1932 to formation, authority, liability and dissolution
  • Distinguish the mutual rights and duties of partners
  • Apply the Contract Act 1872 to offer, acceptance, consideration and capacity
  • Identify when a contract is void, voidable or unenforceable, and the remedies available
  • Apply the Sale of Goods Act 1930 to the passing of property, risk and title
  • Distinguish conditions from warranties, and know the consequence of each
